PROMENADE DES BORDS DE SÈVRE
The banks of the Sèvre constitute a huge green lung at the gates of Rezé: more than 17 hectares, along the Sèvre, a tributary of the Loire. It is a very popular place for Rezéens who like to stroll around, especially on Sundays, on sunny days. The place is peaceful. The flat terrain, with vast shaded paths, is surrounded by wet meadows with ponds, shrubs and hedges. Cows graze quietly among the particularly rich fauna and flora. As far as fauna is concerned: swamp snipe (small wader), frightened flying fox (water warbler), toad midwife.... And in terms of flora: Angelica from the estuaries (protected plant, white umbel flowers), bulrush triqueter (protected plant with large stems, rooting in the mud), helleboreal leaf epipactis (wild orchid)... Large expanses of grass welcome picnic enthusiasts. Children's playgrounds and football goals satisfy both young and old. Fishermen, joggers, cyclists meet each other there. On the way, stop at Parc de la Morinière, Rezé's "plant garden". Then, cross the Morinière bridge and discover the adorable Léon-Sécher wharf where a few boats are moored. Know that if you continue your walk, you will reach the Chaussée aux Moines de Vertou where friendly restaurants await you.
