MARCHÉ D’INTÉRÊT NATIONAL
Established since 1969 on the Ile de Nantes, the M.I.N. (the second largest food wholesaler market in France after Rungis) moved to Rezé at the end of February 2019. With 100 companies and more than 2,000 jobs on the new 65-hectare site, this wholesale shopping centre is part of the history of Nantes. Only market traders, grocers, restaurateurs... have access to this market reserved for professionals. Here fruit and vegetables are sold, which represent more than half of the M.I.N.'s activity. This sector draws its strength from the regional vegetable and fruit production. It is also one of France's leading banana processing and marketing centres. Sea products are also well represented in the Halle à Marée. Flowers and plants also largely transit through here: since 1989, the Océane Fleurs market has brought together wholesalers of cut flowers, plants and accessories. It also includes important industrial bouquet shops and composition workshops. The universe of this place evokes the vibrant backstage of an activity in the heart of the night and until very early in the morning. The professionals who bring it to life are as passionate about their products as they are about their work.
