LA FROMAGERİE SAİNT-PAUL
Its pretty apple green facade embellished with louvered shutters immediately catches the eye. Yet located slightly back on Place Saint-Paul, to the left of the church, the Fromagerie Saint-Paul has made a name for itself since it opened in late 2014. Local residents are among its customers but not only. Pascale and Jean-Marc offer PDO and organic cheeses and focus on regional products. Thus, one can find Grise d'Anjou, Tome de Rhuys, a Carré briandais as well as a wide choice of goat cheeses. In total, between 60 and 80 varieties that vary according to the season and their favourite cheeses. The couple makes it a point of honour to meet as many producers as possible and to offer products that cannot be found in supermarkets. Often it is the maturing time that makes the difference! You can also find butter, dairy products and raw milk (on Fridays). Moreover, Pascale makes delicious waffles in the shape of a cob which delight the children of the neighbouring school at snack time. Note that a small private car park is available to customers just in front of the shop.
