CHATEAU DU COING
19th century Italianate style wine château, known as Clissonais, the courtyard of the outbuildings with a dovecote, produces terroir wines
It takes its name from its location "at the corner" of two rivers, the Sèvre and the Maine. The courtyard of the outbuildings with its majestic dovecote is a fine example of the Italianate style of the 19th century, known as "Clissonais". Today, the château is managed by Véronique Günther-Chéreau and her daughter Aurore, an oenologist, the only women to run a vineyard in Nantes. Fruity and floral, the Muscadets Sèvre et Maine sur Lie produced at the estate are terroir wines with an ageing capacity of 15 to 20 years for the crus communaux and the vintage vintages Comte de Saint Hubert.
