Chef Éric Guérin made his nest on the island of Fédrun, in the heart of the Brière Regional Nature Park. After having worked with the greatest, he created in 1995 La Mare aux Oiseaux. A Brière cottage where the birds sing and the taste buds dance. Éric Guérin imagines his recipes as he would tell a travel souvenir. So, we escape. First with the eyes, then with the flavors from here and elsewhere. An inventive cuisine with local, fresh and seasonal products. The luckiest ones will stay overnight in this little paradise out of time.

Le cadre est idyllique, au beau milieu des ces maisons au toit de chaume, en plein coeuar du marais de Brière. Le cadre est chaleureux, classe sans jamais etre trop strict. L'accueil est sympathique et le service est trés soigné, sans aucune fausse note, toujours sans aucune prétention. Un déjeuner en terasse sous un murier, entourés de beaux arbustres, de poules et d'oiseaux sauvages.... Et au calme ! Un cadre parfait pour nous mettre en appétit et déguster les (nombreux) plats, tous aussi savoureux les uns que les autres... Apéritif avec amuses bouches et cocktail maison à la creme de miel et liqueur de sureau (exquis...), mise en bouche, 2 entrées, poisson, viandes, entre deux et desserts... sans oublier les mignardises offertes par la maison (un adorable nid en chocolat avec des oeufs chocolat/cacahuetes et des truffes au coeur passion... Le personnel est aux petits soins, toujours prévenants sans être trop présent. Le rapport qualité/prix est trés honnete pour un restaurant étoilé. Désormais, j'ai hate d'y retrouner et de tester l'hotel avce le spa.... ;-)

Super moment of pleasure… The quality of the food is top level. Each dish is finely prepared with local products and foreigners. A very pleasant mix.
Appetizer to the desert it is discovery while enjoying. The dishes are beautiful and it is good.
No information on the wines because nondrinker.
Very attentive staff provide with detailed explanation of each dish.
You are taken if you wish to visit the kitchen. It is an opportunity to finding itself, as in the culinary TV programmes, a world or each individual with its role scheduled to ensure a quick and efficient service.
Interior setting is simple, friendly and pleasant.
We are not on one another… The room is as well soundproofed to avoid the hubbub. Respect for privacy.
The view of the outdoor space is pleasant: landscaped garden and animal.
Access to different canals with the possibility to take a stroll in the boat.
Cafe terrace to finish this beautiful day.
Rate may seem high to know that we are in a gourmet restaurant 1 Michelin star.
