VERGER DES PLANCHES
It's always a pleasure to pick apples directly from the Verger des Planches in Saint-Julien-de-Concelles, a stone's throw from Nantes and close to the Loire. Here, we come to taste and buy the 16 varieties of apples grown on this apple orchard! September and October are the peak apple season, and the whole family can come and pick them here! We're only 15 minutes from Nantes, so it would be a shame to miss out. We have Elstar and Valstar apples, as well as Corail, Pilot, Canada Grise, Melrose and Golden. In October, Granny Smith and Fuji apples - do you know them all? You'll also leave with recipe ideas, from apple cake to sweet and sour apples, or how to combine walking, nature and gastronomy, all in a short circuit! The first weekend in September, plus entertainment and a tombola! Domaine Poiron is also a winegrowing estate, producing excellent Muscadets near La Chapelle-Heulin and Maisdon-sur-Sèvre. Long live apples, grapes and good wine!
