FORMER CALVARY CONVENT
Built in 1668 by the descendants of Antoinette d'Orléans, wife of Charles de Gondy, the founder of the new order of Calvary, this monastery ceased its activity in 1792. The site was restored from 1828, including the Calvary Chapel. The building is now partly occupied by a retirement home. The convent can be visited as part of La Machecoulaise (guided tour proposed by the tourist office). The Calvairian women's garden, a place of work, is also a place of prayer, where you can see two oratories dating back to the 18th century.
