A must-see site that offers a green and relaxing setting with a playground for children in Vertou

A must-see site in Vertou, the Chaussée des Moines is a holiday resort on the banks of the Sèvre, with its restaurants, river base, green setting and playgrounds... It acts as a sort of dam linking the Chêne district to the lower part of the town. Built by monks around the year 1000, it serves three purposes: to create a water reserve for navigation to Clisson, to enable the installation of a water mill to supply flour to the monks, and to provide a link between Le Chêne and the central urban area.

Ten km from Nantes we are in the countryside. Very original place really and ideal place for a stroll possibly before or after a good meal in one of the many restaurants on the dock. It is also the return of the fishermen. The view of the Sevre Nantes is beautiful and relaxing. Possible departure for a small hiking on its banks.
I advise on the quay of the road to the monks and his lock.
