Producer: The creation of the Huilerie Croix Verte dates back to the end of the 19th century, when Mr. Morillon and Mr. Bechet founded a small artisanal mill pulled by a horse to produce walnut oil in the small town of Saumur. It is one of the few remaining mills that perpetuates the artisanal production of oils. The Huilerie Croix Verte via its brand La Tourangelle has succeeded in preserving the traditional spirit of the oils of taste in France but also in reinventing them by introducing new flavors from the four corners of the world.
Flagship product: La Tourangelle virgin first-pressed walnut oil where 85% of the oil comes from a first cold-pressing of the best walnuts (junglans regia) and 15% of the oil comes from a first-pressing from walnuts previously roasted in cast-iron pans in Saumur according to the tradition. Walnut oil is perfect for quick stir-fries, vinaigrettes and pastries. It is particularly used to add flavor to foods. Avoid heating it at high temperatures and keep it in the refrigerator.
