Founded in October 1996 under the name of A.U.V.A. (the association des Usagers du vélo du vélo), Place au Vélo is an association of bicycle users who are campaigning for the use and promotion of the bicycle as a means of travelling in town. Originally born in the city of Angers, she has been interested in the communes of the Icelandic town for some years. The main demand for Place au vélo is to create a real cycle network. In addition, the A.U.V.A. organizes urban tours or outside the city, and proposes some more original ideas such as lectures to get dressed up.
