Visit in a former convent full of history, with residence, chapel, cloister and gardens, in Angers.
On special occasions (one Sunday a month, Heritage Days, concerts) and in summer, the private owners invite you to visit these ancient buildings - residence, chapel, cloister - and their gardens, sometimes with a guide. King René was the founder of the convent, whose chapel is dedicated to the hermit of Sainte Baume, and which he named la petite Baume. Rabelais lived here, as did Joachim du Bellay. During the Second World War, the Germans would have liked to settle here, but an "incident" recounted by the owners prevented them from doing so...
