ADAM'S HOUSE
This house is one of the symbols of the city of Angers, attracting visitors and curiosity seekers alike
The Maison d'Adam, a half-timbered house listed as a historic monument, overlooks the Place Sainte-Croix and its welcoming terraces. It's one of our country's oldest, and a fine reminder of architecture past. Its sculpted beams are home to a plethora of more or less modest characters and legendary figures such as dragons. After almost 2 years of restoration, it has been given a facelift. The half-timbered walls have been restored to their 18th-century ochre hue, and the top of the facade has been covered with slate to better preserve it.
