BALZAC PARK
A park with a beautiful biodiversity on the edge of the Maine River, ideal for walks or bike rides, a haven of peace in Angers.
The Balzac Park, on the edge of Maine, is a haven of peace on foot or by bike, family, alone or in love. On this 50-hectare site, nature resumes its rights every year after winter floods. Between canals and small bridges grows squares of grass, oak, colour woods, flowering fields, dunes and green waves. A place where he also makes good gardening for some (120 plots of family gardens) and synonymous with beautiful biodiversity: 150 species of plants have been listed as well as 66 bird species, without forgetting, of course, the many families of rabbits regularly jumping to a few meters of joggers! The walk extends to the city by the banks of Maine, or to St. Nicholas's pond and Garenne Park or to Bouchemaine, along Lake Maine. Among other things, the Loire circuit will be taken by bike. Angers is one of the best-equipped cities in France in parks and green areas and almost all are within walking distance from the city centre.
