LE ROY RENÉ
Since 1920, family-run Le Roy René has been delighting us with specialties straight from the South of France, in Aix-en-Provence. Directly inspired by our Good King René, who, according to legend, received at his third wedding a smile-shaped confection, commonly known today as a calisson, a mixture of crushed almonds, candied melon placed on a wafer leaf, topped with icing. But this is not the only speciality on offer: there are all kinds of nougats (pistachio, black, white), shortbread cookies and fruit jellies, all handmade to preserve traditional know-how.
