SCEA Miel et Loire is a farm in Bouchemaine specializing in queen bee breeding. Their aim is to produce high-quality queens with maximum vitality. To achieve this, they select their best queens according to criteria such as fecundity, slowness to swarm and disease resistance. They work exclusively with strains of "Frère Adam" origin, and buy inseminated queens each year from the best European breeders. Queen rearing is carried out with the greatest care, recreating optimal conditions for swarming, with abundant food and an environment conducive to reproduction. Their fertilization station is located close to the farm, limiting the transport of queen cells and protecting future queens.
