GARDENS CHÂTEAU DU PIN
Garden of shrubs and perennials, designed around a pond that embraces a thousand colorful flowers in Champtocé-sur-Loire
These gardens, planted on 5 hectares of land, surround a private castle adorned with gargoyles and a beautiful square dungeon, now classified as a historical monument. On 18 levels, 18 paintings have been drawn to give shape and life to the pruned yews, irises, roses, shrubs and perennials carefully maintained, as well as to the ponds teeming with aquatic plants, and the vegetable gardens. The collection of topiary art is impressive, and it is easy to understand why the Ministry of Culture has granted the label "Remarkable Garden" to the ensemble. For the past twenty years, the granddaughter of the first artists of this domain has taken up the torch and continues to lovingly maintain this heritage that has been slowly building up since the 1920s. Twice in 2023, on the weekends of May 6 and 7 and October 14 and 15, the gardens will host a plant festival that brings together several thousand visitors. More comical, the gardens also host the annual Tomato Festival in August. The site has won several major awards, including first place in the Vieilles Maisons françaises and first place in the Société Horticulture de France. If you are looking for a generous stroll, in the heart of an atypical nature, worked but preserving authenticity and freshness, the gardens of the castle of pine will be an unforgettable discovery. If the castle is not open to visitors, note that the garden is accessible and its exploration promises to keep you busy!
