MONTGOLFIER
Specialist in the manufacture of tableware and decorative ceramic objects, Montgolfier perpetuates the tradition of clay work that characterizes the Anjou region. Its know-how is distinguished by the label Entreprise du Patrimoine vivant.
History. From the Sarthe where he was foreman, Mr Yvon Roy moved to Durtal in 1943. The presence of clay, wood (for cooking) and rivers (transport) explains the region's ceramic tradition. In 1957, Mr. De Montgolfier took over the management of the workshop and worked to breathe new creative energy into it. We see the Kyoto range and the first production of square plates. In 1984, and for 20 years, it was a family of local entrepreneurs, the Rivard family, that developed the creations and export sales, with the collaboration of designers. Taken over in 2005 by Delphine Stroesser and accompanied by the expertise of Jean-Claude Le Baron, Montgolfier reinvents itself on a daily basis and according to trends, while preserving this timeless touch linked to these so unique enamels. Timeless, Montgolfier has been able to stand out from its competitors over time. Today, the brand collaborates with renowned designers such as Emmanuel Chevalier to push refinement and originality even further.
