Copious cuisine and Anjou wine in a troglodyte restaurant in Louresse-Rochemenier.
Fouaces are a local specialty! And in Louresse-Rochemenier, as in Doué, you'll find a troglodyte restaurant run by the Justeau family, Les Caves de la Genevraie. Conveniently located just 100 metres from the Village Troglo. Single menu: a glass of Coteaux du Layon, fouaces with mushrooms, rillettes d'Anjou, fresh butter, rillauds and mogettes (white beans), cheese, salad and homemade dessert. All washed down with a glass of Anjou wine. A meal so copious that it calls for a short break. No trou normand, this is not the region. But a visit - always much appreciated - to the 800 meters of galleries surrounding the restaurant. 15 minutes to discover the ovens and the secret of baking fouaces.
