Whether or not you visit the castle where the memory of its lady of Montsoreau still floats, at least stop by the Domaine de la Perruche, a prestigious wine estate in the Saumur-Champigny appellation. The 40 ha of vines are rooted in the clay plateau of the cliff, while the cellars are sunk even lower in the rocky side. Here, champigny and white saumur wines of great finesse and richness are matured at a constant temperature and have won many awards. The estate has regained its former prestige thanks to skilfully executed cultivation methods.
