Museum in Doué-en-Anjou, dedicated to the businesses of the past, with stores displaying period objects to relive the past

Housed in former 18th-century stables, this museum takes you back in time to 1850 and 1950. Discover some twenty reconstructed stores, including a grocery store, a barber shop, a toy shop and many others. The tour is divided over two levels, revealing a masterfully restored roof structure. To extend the experience, the tour can be guided (find out more on their website) on a particular theme (the grocery store, the war, etc.). A unique place for a charming journey back in time!

On apprécie le lieu : des anciennes écuries qui accueillent sur deux niveaux des boutiques reconstituées à l’identique. Quel plaisir de retrouver les vieilles devantures, les produits qui sont dans la mémoire des plus anciens et de pouvoir retrouver les chansons que fredonnaient les aïeux. Ne manquez pas la visite commentée par un passionné en tenue d’époque !

Beautiful neat presentation of old shops in an appropriate setting; the reconstruction of a completely street is on the ground floor, the exhibition on the 1st floor is just as pleasant. A warm welcome for a moment to go out of time; a museum not to be missed!
The idea to offer, this year, a brochure souvenir is excellent; it is pleasant to read and read and extends the visit with pleasure.
