Hamlet part of the Corniche angevine, former mining town offering a view of the valley where the Louet and Layon rivers flow
Classified as a historical monument, part of the Corniche angevine, this old mining town with its old-fashioned charm is one of the highest points in the region. It offers a panoramic view of the valley where the Louet, a tributary of the Loire, flows and the Layon and its meanders surrounded by vineyards. René Gasnier, one of the great names of the golden age of French aviation, once took off from the Grand'pré, below. He is buried near this place, where a niche is reserved for him in a chapel. This is one of the most beautiful walks or bike rides.
