CHURCH OF OUR LADY OF NANTILLY
Church built in Romanesque style, with a Gothic aisle ordered by Louis XI in Saumur
Built in the early 12th century, it was the only parish church until the French Revolution. Built in the Romanesque style, it was endowed with a Gothic side aisle commissioned by Louis XI, who, to demonstrate his devotion to the Virgin Mary, had an oratory built with an ogival bay supported by a colonnette. The exceptionally large Romanesque nave is supported by columns decorated with dragons, chimeras and foliage. Admire the collection of twenty-one tapestries from the 16th and 17th centuries.
