In the heart of the Saumur-Champigny region, you will discover the Domaine des Champs Fleuris located in Turquant, a small classified village with 600 inhabitants, with the vines at the top and the "troglos", as they are called here, dug into the tuffeau slopes. The tuffeau, inseparable from the vine, since it restores the humidity that the vine needs in summer. Cellars and caves are legion here: it is even said that Turquant has the most important network in France. A family history, I am the third generation of winemaker. Even when I was ten years old, I had only one idea: to accompany my relatives in the vineyards. You have to have worked in the wine industry to measure how special the alchemy is. It is magical. When you drink a glass of wine, you can feel the hand and the work of the winemaker, you can read the plot of land, its degree of sunshine, the characteristics of its soil. And then there are all the things that you can control, but which you have no choice but to get used to: the weather, the vintages. Each wine is different and has its own personality. Our estate is based on a reasoned agriculture, it has always had the reputation of being an excellent value for money while privileging the fruity flavors. Our wines are recognized by numerous awards: Guide Hachette, Béthane et Desseauve, Saumur wine competition, etc. Natacha, Stéphanie or myself will welcome you at the domain. We will make you taste the range of wines, from white Saumur to Saumur Brut, including my five Saumur-Champigny vintages. "The domain is 2 hectares of chenin for the whites, and 18 in cabernet franc for the reds and rosés. The Champigny vieilles vignes surprises by its tannins: This appellation became known in the 1980s in Parisian bistros with rather light wines marked by red fruits. But it is also possible to obtain power and a good length in the mouth. This cuvée comes from vines that are between 30 and 90 years old. A wine that has no problem to be served with game or cheeses of character. Despite a complicated year, we had a very nice harvest, with perfectly ripe grapes and silky tannins. And just a word about my second love: the Loire River on which I sail on my "toue cabanée" and offer wine tours, allowing me to mix my two passions.
