THE CASTLE-MUSEUM
A castle-museum with two rooms containing superb pieces of medieval art in an excellent state of preservation.
The former residence of the bishops of Angers houses a museum full of treasures. Daniel Duclaux, a collector with a passion for European medieval art, had collected remarkable works there before bequeathing them to the city of Angers. The two rooms contain superb pieces of medieval art (sculptures, ceramics, tapestries, enamels, silverware...) in an excellent state of conservation! Outside you can admire twelve Romanesque marble columns, installed by the previous owner, from the cloister of Elne, in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
