DOMAINE AMEZTIA
In the heart of the Basque Country, in Saint-Etienne-de-Baïgorry, in this small model property, in the charming old cowshed, leaning against the stone-walled storage cellar, you will watch the grape harvest progress to the press with a photo exhibition while a small bar awaits you for wine and farm produce tasting. An independent producer of AOC wines, Gexan Costera welcomes you to its farm and offers a visit to the terraced vineyards. Technically, the wines of the estate are 80 to 85% tannat. At the same time, they use gentle methods, with yields of 30 hl/ha. For the time being, 50 % of the wines - red, rosé, white - are sold on site and the other half to wine merchants and restaurateurs, notably Dutournier in Paris. The red Ameztia, with ripe fruit and a round, fleshy mouthfeel, red Artzaina made from the tannat of the mother vine, white Ameztia with hints of citrus fruit, white Artzaina composed of large and small manseng, white Eztia balanced and subtle in sweetness, rosé Ameztia fond and fruity.
