COGNAC MARTELL & CO
A visit to the oldest of the great cognac houses, offering a highly varied range including its Cordon bleu cognac.
The oldest of the great Cognac houses was born in 1715, the year of Louis XIV's death. Originally from the island of Jersey, Jean Martell set off to discover the world and set his sights on Cognac, where he created his company. The house of the merchant founder is still there, in the centre of the 430 hectare estate of vineyards located in the Fins Bois, Petite and Grande Champagne and Borderies crus: Martell's favourite cru. Always focused on exports: China, Singapore, Taiwan, Russia, Europe, United States... Martell has been combining creativity and a tradition of excellence since 1715. The house offers a varied range, including its Cordon bleu cognac, created in 1912: a dark golden copper colour, aromas of candied fruit and gingerbread; round and mellow with notes of plum, candied orange and cinnamon. The Martell XO cognac, round and fruity (notes of figs and nuts), offers a powerful character and very fine aromas. An original packaging protects it in the form of a case or box. Martell Création cognac, a reinterpretation of the Extra, reveals the rich history of cognac. Marrying freshness through its aromas of fruit in lemon jam and orange peel, mixed with more classic woody and spicy notes... Different types of visits are proposed according to your expectations and desires, from the most classic to the most sought-after in the art of cognac tasting.
Also worth noting is the Martell company foundation which houses a boutique, workshops for artists in residence, a digital world, office space and a panoramic roof terrace. The objective? To offer a new space and a new structure with the aim of promoting the House's know-how and culture: www.fondationdentreprisemartell.com
