A tasting at Martell is a delicious journey back in time. The oldest of the great cognac houses was born in 1715, at the end of the reign of Louis XIV. Originally from the island of Jersey, Jean Martell set out to discover the world, and set his sights on Cognac, where he founded his company. The founder/negociant's home is still there, at the center of the estate, with 430 hectares of vineyards in the crus des fins bois, petite and grande champagne and borderies.
