LE PILORI - ESPACES D'ARTS VISUELS
The 14th-century building is a great step back in time. This Niortais monument steeped in history became an exhibition space in the early 2010. Far from having been converted into a museum, the place hosts temporary exhibitions of visual artists: photographers, video artists, visual artists and other painters. It seems a long time ago when the Pillory was used as a place of imprisonment and... and for the exhibition of prisoners. We now willingly cross the doors to discover the works of local and international artists. We don't forget to take a look at the architecture of this beautiful building, which combines Renaissance and medieval style. Every month a new artist settles in the rather majestic setting of what was also the second Town Hall.
