Excellent Japanese cuisine at good value, 2 steps from Cours Mirabeau in Aix-en-Provence
This elegant Japanese restaurant, located in a small street perpendicular to the Cours Mirabeau, is well worth a visit. A few steps lead up to two spacious rooms and a pleasant patio. The decor is in gray, black and red, with koi carp in the spotlight. Take a seat at a long, slate-topped table, which you share with other guests. Or around a low table seated on a tree trunk. You can also eat like you're at a show, watching as the chef deftly waltzes his knives across a hot plate. Here, you'll be served genuine Japanese cuisine, using fresh, carefully selected ingredients. The opposite of Asian fast food! The salad with baby spinach and black and white sesame seeds is delicious. The tempura (a house specialty) is light and crisp, the sushi and sashimi perfect, and the dishes top-notch, beautiful and tasty, without unnecessary frills and beautifully presented.
