A bistro-style restaurant near the Madeleine church in Aix
More discreet than its neighbours, Le Chastel is frequented by a "bon chic bon genre" clientele from Aix. No flashy terrace, the atmosphere is calmer. Here you benefit from a historical environment: the Madeleine church on the side, and just opposite, the splendid Prêcheurs fountain decorated in 1748 by Pancorace Chastel. The only downside is that the area is currently being disturbed by rehabilitation work. The establishment is tastefully decorated in a contemporary bistro style. The grey tones are warmed up by the wood of the tables. Mirrors on the walls, designer lamps, a large counter where the staff is busy. This pleasant impression continues when the plates are well presented. You will have the choice between fresh fish and simmered meat or other dishes such as the large ravioles with white truffles. To finish, let yourself be tempted by the marzipan macaroon topped with hot chocolate and pistachio ice cream. The ice creams are home-made and you can feel it! A good address where you can order until 2pm without feeling like you're disturbing someone. Appreciable when you are on holiday.
