LA NON-MAISON
A strange name for a house! A reference to Anaïs Nin and the Incas, who called a non-house a secret garden accessed by an underground passage... In 2007, after 20 years as an exhibition curator, Michèle Cohen opened her own gallery around a group of artists she loved, including painters Alain Veinstein and Serge Kantorovitz, and photographers Tadeucz Pazcula and the great Bernard Plossu.... Since then, at the rate of four exhibitions a year, this contemporary art enthusiast has been working in depth with the artists she supports, both emerging and established. In September 2012, La Non-Maison reoriented itself, continuing to offer exhibitions, conferences, artist residencies and the creation of the Ecole du Regard. Notable exhibitions include "Un coin du monde" curated by Michèle Cohen and the symposium "au delà de l'histoire racontée" by curator Sacha Guedj-Cohen.
