The image institute is a cinema located at the Cité du Livre. It was created in 1985 to raise public awareness of film culture through retrospective or thematic cycles. Its programming allows (re) découvir classics, avant-garde cinema or foreign cinema. The room has 156 comfortable seats and hosts conferences, but also events such as the Festival All Short, dedicated to short films. The cinema proposes cycles such as that devoted to Isabella Rossellini. Cinema courses are also organised in the framework of the University of Provence and the Cinema Jeunesse Programme on Wednesday once a month. But the image institute is also a regional pole of arts education and training in cinema and audiovisual.
