The International Festival of Lyric Art has been held every summer in Aix-en-Provence since 1948. It is one of the major European lyrical events on the international scene. Historically dedicated to Mozart - Così fan tutte was the first opera to be performed at the Archbishop's Theatre - the program has since expanded from the baroque to the most contemporary. Pierre Audi, its director, redoubles his ambition for each edition with new and contemporary works.
