Grenade is first and foremost the initiative and energy of one woman, Josette Baïz, who was invited to take up a residency in the suburbs and wanted to create a group of young dancers from the neighborhoods of Marseille and Aix. The challenge of cross-fertilization, the sharing of different dance experiences, from classical to hip-hop to ethnic dances, and the desire to train young people and create unique and original choreographies. The group, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025, is made up of a school for professionals and classes for amateurs, always with the aim of growing together.
