Under the direction of Angelin Perljocal, this internationally renowned troupe has been making its mark on contemporary dance for several decades now. With 24 permanent dancers, it has already created nearly fifty choreographies presented all over the world. The centre welcomes other companies in residence and offers a wide range of training and awareness activities in contemporary dance: tea-dance or aperitif-dance, public rehearsals, readings-video-dance, workshops... The centre is housed in the Pavillon Noir, inaugurated in 2006, a place dedicated to dance with a daring architecture designed by Rudy Rucciotti. Equipped with four rehearsal studios and a 378-seat performance hall, the pavilion's large glass windows give a glimpse of the dance activities that take place there, rehearsals, workshops... A transparency that suits dancers and passers-by alike. Throughout the season, the Pavillon Noir programmes a rigorous selection of contemporary dance shows, including Preljocaj's choreographies, which are of course always eagerly awaited by the Aix public.
