CHOEUR DARIUS MILHAUD
The Darius Milhaud choir changed its name in 2017 to become the Darius Milhaud Choir. It consists of about 80 amateur singers, united by passion for music and polyphonic interpretation. It was founded by Chantal de Zeeuw in the Conservatory Darius Milhaud d 'Aix-en-Provence in 1983. Under the musical direction of Patrick Renaldi the choir gives several concerts a year in remarkable buildings by the quality of their acoustics and the beauty of their architecture: Saint-Sauveur Cathedral of Aix-en-Provence, Basilica Sainte-Marie-Madeleine de Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, Saint-Vincent Church in Roquevaire, Saint-Victor Abbey in Marseille, Saint-Sauveur Church in Manosque… Among the works of its repertoire: Fauré's Requiem, Jean Racine's Cantique, the solemn Mass of Berlioz, and sacred music for the Christmas period… The season begins in early September.
