Spread over 133,000 acres, half of which is covered with forests, the 36 towns of the community of Aix Region (CPA) and their 388,000 inhabitants that play unity in diversity, continue to expand with the entry on January 1st, 2014 of the towns and Gréasque and Gardanne. Sports, culture, economy, heritage... the Aix Region moves. At the level of the territory, the action of CPA passes through the exchange of resourcess, in order to acquire the facilities equipment to the development of each. Therefore the small towns have access to widened services, whatever their own way. It is all about setting up a fair distribution. 17 piscines a landscaped lake (that of Peyrolles), 18 landfills, 17 areas of activity, 23 transmission lines and 47 school bus lines that run through the school territory. Among the many achievements made by the CPA, let us evoke the new bus station in Aix. CPA also supports many associative and cultural projects thanks to the mutualisation of ressources. The existence of this public institution of intermunicipal cooperation, specific to the country of Aix, is called into question by the government project to creation the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolis comprising 93 municipalities around Marseille. Can this territory very dear to Cézanne then kept its individuality? The future will tell us...
