DIOCÈSE D'AIX-EN-PROVENCE ET ARLES
The Diocese of Aix and Arles spans the boroughs of Aix, Arles and Istres. Over the centuries, its borders varied, until Napoleon's Concordat in 1801, bringing together the two patriarchs of Aix and Arles. The Diocese is bordered to the North by the Durance and the Department of Vaucluse, to the West by the Rhône and the Department of Gard, to the South by the Mediterranean and the Marseillaise Agglomeration, to the East by the last foothills of Sainte-Victoire and Mount Aurélien and the Department of Var. This diocese is Bishop Dufour. Several cultural places including the Saint Sauveur cathedral in Aix which also programme cultural events.
