The French Blood Establishment has installed the House of Donation of the country of Aix on the outer boulevards in a comfortable space where LCD screens, tablettes and DVD players reflect the waiting time of the donors. On the edge of the historic centre, the place is served by several bus lines. Parking is also possible at the Pasteur parking station 5 minutes walk (parking will be taken care of by the ESF). Donation is possible from 18 to 71 years. The procedure is very simple: after confidential interview with a physician, the donation is carried out under the supervision of a nurse with sterile single-use equipment. We have a total of 40 snack minutes included. You can also donate plasma or platelets but the operation is much longer: count 1 h 30 for plasma donation and 2 h 30 for platelet donation. Of course, you will be pampered by the health care team. Each year, these donations help to care for more than one million patients, and the needs are constantly increasing.
