FOUNTAIN OF THE 4 DOLPHINS
Baroque fountain in the heart of the Mazarin district, composed of a rock with reeds and a small obelisk
Inspired by the Berninesque baroque, like Piazza Navona, it was sung by the poet Emile Sicard: "The fountain whose water reflects the dolphins is like a crown in the middle of the square - One hotel has made it its own, another embraces it from its open window where a baldachin shakes". In the heart of the Mazarin district and away from the hustle and bustle, it is composed of a rock decorated with reeds and a small obelisk flanked by four dolphins spouting water. The dolphins symbolize the title that was given to the eldest sons of the kings of France from 1349.

Mais le charme et l'harmonie du lieu tiennent sans doute à la fontaine élevée par Rambot (1667).
