CHILDREN'S WARD
This pavilion was part of the Grand Siècle built around Aix. It was constructed in 1674 at the request of Simon Lenfant, who was the France's general treasurer. It displays a severe façade and its interior is lush. It's quite astonishing for a countryside house. It has an enormous stairs, a chimney and an overdoor with still-life and cupid plaster as pattern. On the ceiling of the first floor, there is the Assembly of the gods still from the same Van Loo. The building houses part of the University of Law, Economics and Sciences. The French-style garden designed in the 18th century offers the freshness of its basins and its marble fountains and shades of its foliage. It is very popular with students.
