FRANCE OLIVE
Since 1999, Afidol, the French Interprofessional Olive Association, brings together all the professional olive-growing sectors that represent, promote and defend French olive oil, from the cultivation of olive trees to the marketing of finished products. It celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2019 and decided on this occasion to change its name - which is now France Olives - and logo. It carries out actions aimed at improving the cultivation of olive trees and the quality of its products while minimizing the environmental impact. France Olive also implements measures to enhance the image of the olive and French olive oil among consumers. It is a question of making known that this French production is rich in varied flavours and that it is advisable to discover the olive oil terroirs of the South of France and their sunny names: salonenque, tanche, cailletier, lucques, picholine... Of course, Aix-en-Provence AOC olive oil is one of the Provençal oils supported by France Olive. For more details, see France Olive's websites: https://afidol.org/ for professionals and technical questions, and: https://huiles-et-olives.fr/ for the general public (information, recipes...). No exhibition is open to the public in France Olive's offices in Aix, where its headquarters are located. On the other hand, it is possible to deepen the subject by visiting the Institut du monde de l'olivier, Rhône-Alpes branch of France Olive, located in Nyons (Drôme) through a rich exhibition which ends with a tasting! Another of its branches is located in Saint-Gilles in the Gard. Of course, olive oil from the Aix region has its place there.
