LES MOULINS D'ALLAUCH
Windmills dating back to the century, overlooking the bay of Marseille, make Allauch unique and its inhabitants proud.
Because of its predominant position above the bay of Marseille, Allauch has always been exposed to the winds. Throughout its history, many mills have been established there. There are still five of them today, all located on the esplanade of the mills. They are the pride of the Allaudians and make the reputation of this locality. The five mills that can be seen today date from the 17th century. Two mills have been renovated: the Camoin mill and the Louis Ricard mill, which can be visited on Sundays and on festival days. The latter has been mechanized according to the original plans. Its visit will plunge you into a time when the miller's job was an integral part of life in Allauch.
