Set on a terrace overlooking the Roman Amphitheatre, this restaurant serves succulent Italian pizzas and calzones.

An Arles institution since the 70s, La Mama is the Arles pizzeria, the Italian restaurant par excellence. Here, you're immediately transported to Italy. First of all, with the owner's lilting accent, and the atmosphere, if you're sitting on the terrace overlooking the Roman Amphitheatre. Then there's the delicious pizzas and calzones. You'll also enjoy pasta, lasagne and tortellini. The cuisine is reminiscent of the famous Italian trattorias. Sophie's service is unique and fabulous!

La Mamma... une adresse familiale à laquelle on devient accro... Les plans sont bons (les pâtes notamment les linguine à la romaine, les diverses pizzas, les lasagnes dont celles aux aubergines, etc etc), copieux juste ce qu'il faut, les desserts peu nombreux mais tous faits maison (le vacherin aïe aïe, le pana cotta, le tiramisu), le service est super, tout comme l'accueil. La patronne, de Milan, et le cuisto, italien, sont toujours adorables, et la serveuse toujours sympa et rigolote. L'endroit est simple et agréable - attention vers le fond il y fait parfois bien chaud, pas loin du four... J'y vais depuis plus de cinq ans et je n'ai jamais été déçue.
Bref, à La Mamma on se sent à la maison !
