Organized every year since 1928, this event combines tradition and entertainment. It invites spectators to take to the stands of the Arles bullring on the first Monday in July to watch a Camargue race during which bulls and bullfighters compete against each other without killing, to the delight of aficionados and everyone else. It is an extraordinary spectacle: movement, emotion, suspense, all in an atmosphere of popular jubilation. The Cocarde d'Or is important because it counts towards the Raseteurs' Championship, the Trophée des As.
