THERMES DE CONSTANTIN
Thermal baths, vestiges of an establishment wrongly considered until the Middle Ages and classified as Historic Monuments since 1840.
The Baths of Constantine were built in the 4th century, when this emperor was resident in the city. They are the remains of an establishment wrongly considered, until the Middle Ages, as the ruins of a palace. Today we know that this is not the case. The northern thermal baths, among the best preserved in France, were partially cleared from the 19th century and have been classified as historical monuments since 1840. They are the property of the city of Arles. The state of conservation of the ancient establishment is remarkable.
