For three Sundays in February, Carry-le-Rouet celebrates the sea urchin with traditional gourmet festivities.
A true traditional festival and a must for all residents of Carry and the surrounding area, the Oursinades take place every year on several Sundays in February on the port. This tradition dates back to the 60s, when "Urchin Day" was celebrated. In the 70s, the success of the event led to the creation of "Le mois de l'Oursin". Today, the festivities are concentrated exclusively on several Sundays, making Carry the undisputed capital of this fine sea treasure.
