CHAPELLE SAINT-SIXTE
Chapel of the XIIth century, hosting the festival of Roumavage with a procession in Provencal costumes, popular for wedding photos
The charming 12th century Sainte-Sixte chapel is located on the road to Orgon, less than two kilometres from the centre of Eygalières. This chapel was enlarged with a porch in the 17th century. Every year it hosts the festival of Roumavage, whose procession in Provencal costumes is followed by an open-air mass. Isolated on its rocky mound, framed by a few cypress trees, it is well worth a visit. The place is very popular with wedding photographers for its aesthetics and its light. It has a unique atmosphere.
