Araquelle is a family business that produces and distributes teas and herbal teas. Located in the Drôme, the first specialized organic department, it guarantees a healthy agriculture, without pesticides, without chemical and synthetic treatments for a natural and guaranteed organic product. Its organic herbal teas from the Provence d'Antan range have received the Origine France Garantie certification.
History. Laboratoire Araquelle was created in 1986 by Philippe Petit, current Chairman and CEO. Its expansion in the 2000s led it to establish itself in Provence (Sandeel) in 2002.
The products. For more than twenty years, the company has been developing its activity on the selection, packaging and distribution of organic plants, which currently include three main families: organic herbal teas with the Romon Nature brand, organic teas with the Plantasia brand and aromatic, culinary and compound herbs presented under the Provence d'Antan brand.
Araquelle favours its supply of organic plants in France, particularly in the Drôme provençale where 25 farmers, who do not receive any European aid, make a living from their production: thirty different species are harvested on 100 ha.
Provence, Auvergne and Anjou are also partner regions for the cultivation of organic plants for Romon Nature herbal teas.
Employment. The aromatic plants are packaged in protected jobs for disabled people (about fifty) who work in three work assistance centres.
