Park with thematic gardens, thousands of trees and a lake on the place of the old Prado station, to visit in Marseille

This park inaugurated in 2001 is mainly known for an ambitious project: the Tree of Hope, symbol of cohabitation and respect between ethnic groups and religions. Implanted in place of the old Prado station (the rails still exist), the surface area is nearly 10 ha. Thousands of trees (including 26 sequoias) as well as a lake can be found there. Don't forget to have a look at the list of names engraved at the entrance of the park: they are inhabitants of Marseille. Thematic gardens (Provence, Asia, Orient and Africa) are waiting for you!

Belle endroit pour se détendre, le seul point négatif pour moi c'est le terrain de Basket que je fréquente régulièrement qui est très mal entretenue et ça depuis des années. l'un des deux paniers est cassé il n y a pas de filets, le parquet est sale ( poussiéreux) et je ne comprend pas pourquoi certains jouent au foot dans un terrain de basket du grand n'importe quoi sans vouloir etre méchant ceci dit, il faudrait penser à rénover ce terrain.

un espace vert à côté de chez moi donc pratique. La partie la plus agréable reste celle de l'étang mais on entend toujours le bruit des voitures..

park has multiple facets! many games for the minots, 2 restaurants (simple and cheap), several atmospheres gardens, less although borely but brilliant when not too many people and beautiful view of the good mother!
